RENEGADES CSGO THE TRANSFER

Updated: Mar 31, 2020

Today, we announce the departure of the Renegades Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad after being acquired by 100 Thieves.  We are proud of our achievements, hard work and dedication as an organization. The teams commitment to the process and one another helped excel them into becoming a top team in the world, particularly over the previous year - going from the Asia Minor championship to making to back-to-back Legend status at the Major.  To Jay ‘Liazz’ Tregillgas & Sean ‘Gratisfaction’ Kaiwai, your impact was felt in this lineup the moment you joined. Watching your rise through Oceania and over the last 12 months has been incredible, and we are excited to watch you write your stories in esports even under different colors. To make the move across the Pacific is a massive sacrifice but you have both exceeded all expectations. We wish nothing but the best for you both. To Joakim ‘jkaem’ Myrbostad - you began 2018 opting to continue chasing the CS:GO dream instead of quitting the esports arena. From your stability throughout ‘18 and your help to see the boys into the top 5 in the world to quickly solidifying yourself as one of 2019’s best, you proved yourself a Legend through and through. Your impact out of the server rivaled that of in it, you brought new life to the Renegades and it will be sorely missed. Be sure to pick up your Australian citizenship on your way out. To Aleksandr ‘kassad’ Trifunovic, your patience is unrivaled. Although a roller-coaster at times you've showcased your skills to RNG and in doing so the boys became a tactically supreme unit. Your passion to see the boys succeed, too, has not and cannot be matched. From your presence behind the boys at LANs to your 2017 stand-in performances with the UMP, from the beginning to the end - thank you. To captain Aaron ‘AZR’ Ward, Justin ‘jks’ Savage & Chris ‘GoMeZ’ Orfanellis - just wow. Through 1596 days and 811 maps you wore the burgundy and gold - a veritable lifetime in esports. Four Asia Minor Championships came and went, but for most your win in Shanghai at StarLadder’s i-League Invitational in late 2017 was a major turning point for the team. Now a consistent force in the global top ten thanks to Justin’s tenacity, Aaron’s steadfast leadership & Chris’ everlasting support from behind the scenes, we know greatness still lies ahead and is well within reach. Thank you and best of luck for your future endeavors in and out of esports. Once a Renegade, always a Renegade. #YTB Written by Nicholas ‘Taffy’ Taifalos @TaffyAU on Twitter
