Biography

The Detroit Renegades came together in the summer of 2016 when Jonas Jerebko approached us with the idea of having a team based out of Detroit. The team originally consisted of Yaman “yam” Ergenekon, Aaron “AZR” Ward, Justin “jks” Savage and Karlo “USTILO” Pivac from the previous stint in Las Vegas. We had recently added Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland to the roster and the team’s first coach Nicholas “Peekay” Wise. Although the roster had some up’s and down’s overall it was a pretty successful time for Renegades who qualified for all the Major Qualifiers as well as Pro League Finals and placed second at Dreamhack Winter 2016.

After a disappointing result at The Eleague Major Qualifier the team moved in a new direction and recruited the services of Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic as our new coach. The team had immediate success qualifying for Dreamhack Las Vegas. Shortly after this the team decided that further changes needed to be made and Rickeh departed the team. The team went on the hunt for a replacement player and during this time yam expressed interest to leave the team and return to Australia to deal with some issues he was having outside of the game. More time passed while we were assessing our options for possible candidates. The team announced the additions of Noah “Nifty” Francis and Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic as the successful replacements to complete the roster.

With the roster now confirmed, the team immediately travelled to Europe to complete an intensive bootcamp and accelerate the onboarding of these new players. The team is back in the rhythm of playing matches again and have their eyes set on the future with both the IEM Sydney and the PGL Major fast approaching.
