The Detroit Renegades are returning to Call of Duty, and are pleased to announce our new roster for Sledgehammer Games & Activision's Call of Duty: World War 2!
Jordan "Reedy" Reed, Gurdip "SunnyB" Bains, Josh "Watson" Watson and Jake "Jake" Dalton will first represent RNG at the Call of Duty World League event in Dallas next week with a lions share of $200,000 up for grabs. We caught up with team captain Reedy who is excited at the prospect of representing the Renegades and competing again with players he's both played with and against over his years in the esport.
"I began playing Call of Duty competitively around Modern Warfare 3, and teamed previously with Watson and SunnyB for CoD: Ghosts under Exertus eSports - there we finished second at EGL 13 and fifth at ESWC 2014. It was important that everyone on the roster had teamed with one another at least once before."
Experience is a definite quantity within the roster, with over a combined fifteen years of competition amongst the team spanning multiple games from CoD: Black Ops to the upcoming title Call of Duty: World War 2. While winning in game is an important factor as with any team in esports, it was the dynamic that the Renegades brings outside of the game that drew Reedy and the team into the RNG squad.
"There's a lot more going into a game and a team than just playing and winning - it's about the support structure, the stability, the 'family' atmosphere. These elements help to push a player and a team forward and to do better. The next two months are crucial for us; we will need to place well in every major event if we want to book a spot at Champs, but with the Renegades it's going to definitely be doable."
Call of Duty: World War 2 will be released on November 3rd. The CWL Dallas Open kicks off the new Call of Duty 2018 calendar next week as the first esport event for COD:WW2, and the Renegades will be there! You can tune in at mlg.tv/cwldallas starting November 9.
